On 23rd September, Apple officially launched its first retail store in India providing a wide range of Apple products to customer across the country. The tech giant finally steps in the Indian market for the very first time with the same premium experience found in Apple Store locations around the world.
Apple products in India have been sold through third-party distributors, e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Flipkart and authorised Apple retailers. Now with the launch of Apple Store in India, People can directly shop their desired Apple product straight from the web store. Apple Store also offers direct customer support as well as trade-ins, student discounts, and financing options to interested shoppers.
Interested Indian customers can finally buy authorised Apple products directly from its store, instead of depending on third-party distributors. The company also promises to ship orders within 24 to 72 hours along with chat for support on a particular product, advice or guidance. Shoppers can also customize Mac computers as per their requirements, a notable service by Apple in the Indian market. It also provides trade-ins or exchange offers for used smartphones, contactless delivery and more.
Newly launched Apple products like Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch Series 6, iPad Air are also available in store.
In February, Apple CEO Tim Cook had said the company will launch its online store in India later this year, while its first physical retail store will open in the country in 2021.
Now, Apple Store potentially has more control over the retail experience in India, which they have been globally known for.
Deirdre O’Brien, Senior Vice President of Retail and People at Apple said, “One thing we’ve learned is when we enter the market with Apple Retail, all boats rise, it creates tremendous interest in our products, which are available on our online store and through our network of trusted resellers, allowing us to connect with our customers where they are. As of today, Apple Store Online is selling a wide range of Apple products.”
Apple One subscription-based services will also be offered later this year in India.
